How macroeconomic performance affects farmer’s term of trade: Evidence from East Java Province, Indonesia

This paper attempts to show that causality of the impact macroeconomic factors in form inflation and gross domestic product on farmer term trade East Java Province, Indonesia. research was carried out over eleven years quarterly, starting from 2010-2021, analyzed using Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). The finding this study indicated that, short long term, has a negative but not significant effect. A 1% increase current period would have decreasing farmers by 0.0009% future period. often happens due decline value currency which is mostly caused speculator buyers who buy products farmers. Meanwhile, regional an 0.02% next shows cannot be seen as extraordinary, affecting farmer’s trade. Rising can lead level farmers' welfare costs must paid farmers.JEL Classification E31; J43; O11
